The Tower Company, founded in 1945 and reorganized in 1961, is a leading Arctic design, construction, and management firm in Canada. Operating continuously in the Arctic since 1946, it has pioneered modern permafrost design and construction methods.

After World War II, the company built the first permanent High Arctic Weather Stations (HAWS) for Canada and the U.S., followed by the Resolute Bay Airport and various scientific stations in the Northwest Territories and Greenland. Tower Company led Arctic innovation, introducing airlift-supported projects, soft-balloon tire aircraft for unprepared terrain, and lightweight prefabricated structures. It also developed new permafrost foundation techniques and built the High Arctic weather station network and the Eastern portion of the DEW Line for the Canada.
​The company has successfully completed, for government and private owners, over fifteen hundred Arctic projects, designed and built to take into consideration the special environmental requirements of the region, i.e., permafrost, extreme low temperatures, high winds and difficult logistic support.

In 1979 Tower Arctic Ltd. was formed to give long time, key employees equity participation in the construction division of the company and in 2008 became majority Inuit owned.

Based in Iqaluit, the company specializes in heavy civil and building construction, including commercial and industrial buildings, roads, water systems, airports, and port facilities. Committed to Inuit involvement,
Tower Arctic exceeds IIBA and contractual hiring requirements through local employment and training. Notably, it founded Qikiqtaq Equipment Ltd. during the Pangnirtung Reservoir Project, a locally managed and profitable heavy equipment company that continues to support the community.
